A little bit about us!

'Sure to Surprise You' started in April 2011 and has gone from strength to strength in the past 5 years. Starting with a couple of sets of cutlery we soon established a large hiring range.

Our vintage crockery now has more than 200 place settings and we still hand pick everything we stock. The vintage and rustic theme is now a huge aspect of many weddings and we love it! The quirky jamjars, sophisticated champagne saucers, rough and ready wooden candle holders and lace...lots of lace! It shows how weddings have progressed into a 'diy', personal showcase of the couples true personality. It isn't all about hotels either. A rustic barn or quaint village hall can be equally as lovely and more cost effective for those with a budget.

If it's traditional you want we also do that too! Yes, we really do have something for everyone. Having a three course meal needs the same finishing touches and we now stock over 400 place settings. Clean cut white table cloths donned with white crockery, sparkling silver cutlery, spotless wine, water and champagne glasses finished with a folded linen napkin. It certainly is a stunning picture and will add to your day.

My background in event management and hospitality started when I was 16..(it seems like forever ago!).Working at music festivals, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, hotels, theatre and bars all put me in good stead to continue into eventing after I finished my degree in English and Film-studies at Aberdeen University.

Love made me move south (from bonnie Scotland!) to Windermere, The Lake District where I quickly began working in tourism and hospitality, running events all over the Lakes before I started to brave it on my own.

I love living in this stunning area - romance is always in the air and who can blame you with glorious scenery, scrummy food and a nice little tipple just round every corner! I am also kept busy with my little boy who is 3 (full of terrible toddler days!) and my little girl who is 10 months!
